Our U15 Boys Basketball team are heading to play in Tallaght on the biggest basketball stage in the National Arena. The Boys have qualified for the All Ireland Cup Semi Final on March 29th this year. The team captained by 3rd year student Tiernan Mc Geough put in an impressive performance against Malachy’s Belfast and Pats Cavan in the knockout stage tournament in January. Having lost to Malachys in their first game by 6 and Pats Cavan beating Malachys by 1, our boys had to win their final game against Pats by at least 7 to qualify.
A standout defensive performance from Harry Mc Quillan kept St, Pats main offensive threat scoreless for the entire game. Other notable players in the game were Tristan Nugent,James Ennis, Tiernan Mc Geough and Cormac Kelly. The boys knew what was at stake and put on an excellent display of skill and determination to win the game by a massive 35 points on a scoreline of 41-6.
