The culmination of years of dedication and hard work was celebrated last Friday, August 25th as students from Our Lady’s Secondary School received their Leaving Certificate results. Speaking at the school on Friday, Principal Mr Eddie Kelly commented on this year’s excellent Leaving Cert results, “as a school we are absolutely delighted with this year’s Leaving Certificate results as all of our students across different levels and abilities achieved outstanding results. Three students achieved over 600 points with Aoife Wynne achieving 625 points with an incredible 8 H1’s. Almost 25% of students achieved in excess of 550 points with the average CAO points in the school 426 points. Our Sixth Year students had 71 H1’s and 116 H2’s across various different subject areas. In Leaving Certificate Applied all students achieved the highest possible grade of a Distinction. As our students move forward in the next phase of their lives, they carry with them not just exceptional Leaving Certificate results, but also the values and qualities that are emblematic of Our Lady's Secondary School. These values will undoubtedly serve as the cornerstone of their future successes, giving them resilience and confidence as they move forward to third level and the world of work. Amidst this celebration of academic excellence, we also recognise the invaluable contribution our students have made to the school community through their engagement in extracurricular activities and student leadership roles. Over the last six years, their vibrant participation in various initiatives has left an indelible mark on our school's community. Their enthusiasm, leadership, and commitment have enriched the school environment and set a remarkable example for their peers. The unwavering commitment of our teaching and support staff to the holistic growth and academic success of our students deserves special acknowledgment. Their persistent dedication and remarkable efforts in guiding and nurturing our students have played an instrumental role in these remarkable achievements.’
