Our Lady’s Secondary School is delighted to celebrate the wonderful achievement of Max Mc Ginnity from the Leaving Certificate class of 2024, who has been awarded a prestigious UCD Ad Astra Scholarship. This highly competitive scholarship recognises students who have demonstrated exceptional academic excellence, leadership, and dedication to their chosen field. The UCD Ad Astra programme provides students with unique opportunities, including access to mentoring, specialised academic supports, encouraging them to develop their talents and excel in their respective disciplines.
Principal Mr. Kelly attended the awards ceremony, which took place at UCD O’Reilly Hall on February 11th, to personally congratulate Max on this remarkable accomplishment.
Speaking about Max’s success, Mr. Kelly stated, "Max has been an exemplary student throughout his time at Our Lady’s, consistently displaying a strong commitment to academic excellence and extra curricular activities. His recognition as a UCD Ad Astra Scholar is a testament to his hard work, perseverance, and passion for personal growth. We are incredibly proud of his achievements and have no doubt that he will continue to excel in his future studies and beyond. As well as achieving at a very high level in the Leaving Certificate Max was also actively involved in various extracurricular activities most notably GAA to a very high level, reflecting the well-rounded ethos we encourage at Our Lady’s. Our entire school community wishes Max every success and happiness in his future endeavours."
