Our Lady’s Secondary School, Castleblayney will host a conference on October 26 entitled ‘The Future of the Irish Border and the European Union’s Role’. This event will be funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs’ Communicating Europe Initiative. The school is located in close proximity to the Monaghan-Armagh border and the intention is to bring writers, academics and researchers to the border area so that they can present their work to community groups, members of the public and particularly young people. Presentations are sought on topics related to the history of the Irish border, Ireland’s engagement with the European Union, and the implications of Brexit for border areas.
Academics, PhD students, Early Career Researchers, writers and other individuals interested in presenting a paper of 15-20 minutes duration should send a brief abstract and biography to conference organiser Patrick Mulroe email@example.com before June 30, 2019.
Some limited funding is available to cover expenses courtesy of the Department of Foreign Affairs’ Communicating Europe Initiative.
