Musicals and Dramas, School Choir and School Tours are just a few of the extra-curricular activities that we encouraged our students to become involved in.
The Biannual musical for Transition years and Fifth Years has proved to be very popular and provides the students with life long memories. Students benefit greatly from the experience of, acting, singing dancing, and back stage experience on set, props, lighting ,sound, make up and costumes and programme making all pointing to a rewarding experience. Recent productions have included:
Other drama productions also feature in Our Lady’s with recent plays being performed by both junior and senior students such as Blood Brothers, Cinderella, Scrooge, Tribute to the Sisters of Mercy and smaller drama extracts being performed for Open Night ,Awards Night and Awareness Week. Drama is widely used to boost the confidence and self esteem of students as well as introducing them to team work and the world of the Arts.
Our students regularly get the opportunity to go on day and overnight trips that add greatly to their educational experiences at Our Lady’s. It is our objective to give every student the opportunity of one foreign trip during their time in Our Lady’s’. In planning for this due consideration is given to the financial outlay involved for parents who are given advance warning and students are facilitated in saving towards their trip. In recent years students have travelled to Paris, Berlin and Barcelona. The memories and experiences from these trips with fellow students often remain long after other aspects of school life are forgotten
