Our Lady’s Camógs selected for Elite Academy

Congratulations to four students from Our Lady’s who were selected to participate in Ulster Camogie U16 Elite Academy held in Jordanstown during August. This was a singular honour for Aoife Cullen, Leah Haughey, Roisin O’Sullivan & Caireen McKenna, all students at Our Lady’s and all of whom play their camogie with Castleblayney Camogie Club and have represented their County in U16 and U18 during 2016. They have also been central to the good fortunes of the school’s camogie team.

The course focused on training programmes, skill development, nutrition, hydration, lifestyle, team building, foam rolling, self massage, maximising possession, creating scores, warm up, cool down/stretching, strength and conditioning and fitness testing, all of which will contribute to their future performance and gives them a wonderful base on which to build and hone their camogie skills.

Congratulations to the Senior Camogie team who won their first Ulster title when they defeated St Clare’s Ballyjamesduff on Sunday December 7th 2014.  The team, captained by Rebecca Treanor are looking forward to the All-Ireland semi-final in January.
