Equestrian success

Pictured at the Inter Schools Ireland show Jumping competition held in Kernan’s Equestrian Centre in Crossmaglen are Mary Duffy, Jennifer Duffy and Sorcha McCague with their teacher Ms O’Hanrahan. The Olss show jumping team had great success in the Inter Schools Ireland Show Jumping competition at the weekend at the competition held in Kernan’s equestrian centre Crossmaglen. Our team consisted of Mary Duffy, Jennifer Duffy and JP Meegan. The team excelled on the day securing second place.

Both Jennifer and JP completed in the novice individual competition with Jennifer completing a speedy round against the clock which earned her 2nd place.

Our Lady’s Equestrian success

Congratulations to Our Lady’s equestrian team who earned a well deserved 2nd
place in Equestrian Interschools on Saturday 22nd of November. The
competition was held in the Kilossery Equestrian Centre in Dublin and each
of the four riders had an excellent round and rode very well, with Sorcha
McCague leading the way with a double clear round.

The team will continue their training with James Kernan in preparation for
the next round of Equestrian Interschools, which takes place in Broadmaedows
EC Ashbourne on Sunday 7th of December.

Mentor and teacher, Ms Eithne O’Hanrahan and all members of the club would
like to acknowledge the saddle pads kindly sponsored by Mourne Shooting

Congratulations to JP Meeegan , Sorcha McCague, Jennifer and Mary Duffy who all competed in the Drumlin Hunters School competition.  Both JP and Sorcha completed the track clear and finished in the top ten. 

Showjumping 2013

This year the team started out competing in Ireland’s Interschool’s at Kernan’s Equestrian Centre on Sat Oct 26th with Jessica Connolly, Ethan McCann, Mary Duffy and Sorcha McCague  entering the team event and Aedemar McCaughry entering the Individual competition. The team did very well to finish second in their first outing in competitive equestrianism.


Transition Year students have the opportunity to take an Equetrian module, they visit a local stables once a week.
