Welcome to Our Lady’s Secondary School website. I sincerely hope that your visit to this site will be enjoyable and will provide all the information you require about our school and the services and facilities we offer. Our Lady’s Secondary School is a Voluntary Secondary School under the Trusteeship of CEIST, www.ceist.ie and derives its ethos from the philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy as staff and students enjoy working together to realise our full potential in a healthy, safe, stimulating and friendly environment.

As a school we pride ourselves on the strong relationships that exist between our enthusiastic students, supportive parents/guardians along with the professionalism and dedication of our staff to ensure a holistic education for all our students. In Our Lady’s we encourage, support and challenge our students to participate in all areas of school life in order to help them achieve their full potential. In doing so we strive to create a caring and supportive environment where all students are known, valued and respected.

Our school serves second level students from Eddie at deskCastleblayney and the surrounding areas and we offer a wide range of subjects within a broad and varied curriculum. In Our Lady’s we offer the Junior Certificate, Junior Certificate Schools Programme, Transition Year, Leaving Certificate, Leaving Certificate Applied and the Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme. We have comprehensive Special Educational Needs and Student Support programmes to ensure that all our students have the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills to their full potential and to be active participants in the life of our school.

Our Lady’s has a proud tradition of academic excellence, in addition students participate in a wide variety of extracurricular activities provided by a generous and committed staff. It is this culture of generosity, high expectation and hard work that compliments the varied skills and abilities of our talented, energetic and hardworking students.

As Principal, my door is always open to staff, parents and students and I’m looking forward to working with all members of our school community in a challenging and positive environment.
